My Job At The Care Home - 1002 Words
The antagonist of all life, death- people quiver at the sight of the word. My job is to let the process of death happen. I come and go into peopleââ¬â¢s lives, most humans canââ¬â¢t even see me, and only the ones near death can. Once you see me, youââ¬â¢re swallowed into the jaws of death. Itââ¬â¢s a miserable job, but someone has to do it. Today is a particularly miserable day because I have to go to a care home the home of the living dead. I had to retrieve a human called Vivian. I looked at her papers. Her life was as intricate as a Michelangelo painting; a life well lived, however every detail beautifully crafted. She had the freedom which I never had and probably never will. I had arrived at the care home. It was decorated; fully in beige it was ironic because the ancient humans were in the beige years of their lives. Their once vivid and radiant lives like the feathers of a peacock had become beige and tedious like the care homes comatose decoration. The ancient humans were just sitting in the waiting room they were like mannequins. The sight was quite institutional and depressing. Vivian was not there I checked into different rooms, however I had finally found her, she was a decrepit woman but she still had some time left. Next to her was Margaret over the years I had seen her quite often. She was vigorous unlike her friend Vivian. They were both wearing dresses Vivian a purple dress as ominous as the black clouds gathering in the sky on the other hand Margaret was wearing an orangeShow MoreRelatedJob Satisfaction Among Direct Care Workers1268 Words à |à 6 Pages Review of the Literature: Job satisfaction Among Direct Care Workers Maegan Hendershot PA 500 Research Methods November 26, 2014 Abstract Beginning in 1955, (with the greatest conversion occurring in the 1980s and 1990s), deinstitutionalization in the United States slowly transitioned individuals with mental illness and various disabilities from large state institutions to community group homes and smaller residential organizations (Koyanagi, 2007). A Business Plan at BizOps Enterprises - Development & Implementation
Question: Discuss about theDeveloping and Implementing a Business Plan at BizOps Enterprises. Answer: Introduction: BizOps is essentially a new concept in rendering service and utilities. They specialize not only in Knowledge Processing but also in implementing any improvements that may become necessary in the performance of their responsibilities. With their 150 strong retail outlets apart from the online and phone based order execution they have to always be on their toes since they handle the top and exclusive segment of the market and this segment of the market does not tolerate any lapses(Plumme, 2014). They not only handle superior quality good but are also careful to remain sustainable and environment friendly so that the exclusive clientele who frequent their outlets and place orders over phone or online remain satisfied with their service levels. This necessitates taking a very close review of all aspects of their operations and then suggesting efforts for improving not only the products that they market but also the services they render. Of late they are insisting on remaining Green in all their activities since their clientele has embraced the environmental cause very consciously. This paper is an attempt at undertaking a review of almost all areas of their working and suggesting areas for improvements for ensuring that retain their image in the market for being a highly progressive and dependable organization(Nais, 2010). Present Business Plan: Since this organization is contemplating three things to be incorporated into their business model it will be in order to ensure that their present business plan is fit to take on the challenges that will surface during the process of incorporations of the three dimensions desired by them. These three dimensions are the following: Putting in place Customer Relationship Management software in their working for higher customer satisfaction. Develop a hamper for the upper market segment and this hamper would be in line with their brand image of exclusivity. Intensive mentoring program for the proper development of their operating personnel at the supervisor and team leader level(Entrepreneur, 2015). Before getting on with the review and suggestion at each area it may be recalled that there is no scope for controlling the external factors in a business. The only way of ensuring a competitive advantage is by improving the internal strength areas and building up on their strengths and removal of weaknesses. The three steps which this organization has contemplated all go to improve their existing Business Model and at the same time develop closer contacts with their customer base(Fontinelle, 2016). While their Vision remains intact in the sense that their aim is to remain at the number one slot in their industry. No change is suggested to this very basic and foundational stand(Romano, 2016). Next their Mission is found to give several areas of concern like innovating, delivering high quality, employing best people, being environment friendly and a host of other things. They however miss out on a few things and those are that, while talking of Quality they only point out and mention the deliverables to the customers. They do not include the Quality of their personnel whose Quality decides the level of service and satisfaction that get generated for the customer. Again they do not mention the aspect of remaining in touch with their customer base and learn from them the changing trends in the preference spectrum for their merchandise. These two aspects need to be incorporated in their Mission statement(Xconomy, 2016). The business objectives are quite comprehensive but to align their objective with the inclusion of the three points into their strategic stance it will be necessary to include a few things into their strategy. First, they will be able to keep in touch with their customers and one objective would be to strengthen the online and phone ordering competencies since a larger number of customers will be interacted with and the number of phone orders and online orders will increase. Second, they will have to take a closer look at the operational levels so that monitoring along with mentoring their people is taken up together. Mentoring and development of their people will now have to be considered as of strategic importance. The easiest part of Customer Relationship Management is its installation. Operating it profitably is a challenge and the most difficult aspect of CRM is quantifying the benefits(Romano, 2016). The performance of the people will now have to be seen in the context of the CRM which will get installed soon. Thus the performance of the people will be evident by the number of customers who is kept in touch with and the number of such customers along with the visits they make to the retail outlets will be featuring in the performance appraisal system to be implemented. Again the new hamper will have to be introduced with a lot of publicity. The number of customers who show interest and keenness in knowing more about the hampers will get recorded on the CRM. Thus CRM will eventually provide a database which will keep track of the prospects as well as simple queries. These data will form the basis of performance approval under the new set up. The financial resources that will be required are: Investment for procuring the software Cost of customization Training costs for the employees Training up costs for the mentors who will be instrumental in proper and useful implementation of the CRM The human resources who will be operating the CRM will need to have a very different approach of communicating over the phone, which will be anew area to be covered by the existing people. The physical resources will be the facility and maintenance cost of the CRM and keeping it going without a break down or interruption. Any software invariably gives some teething troubles which will have to be very quickly addressed. Adequate number of software personnel need to be temporarily hired for ensuring that there is no severe dislocation of work during use. The hamper will have to ensure that there are no environmentally sensitive materials either in the contents or in the packing materials. It would be very powerful if only bio degradable materials are used for packing purposes. In case this is not possible then the company will have to mention that the packing materials, if returned to the company, will fetch the customers a discount from their subsequent purchases. Thus the hamper will have to be fully eco-friendly and environment compliant. The stakeholders who will have to be consulted are: Employees: This is the most important segment of the stakeholders and the communication with them will have to be done with direct verbal communication. Vendors: The communication with the vendors will be a written one where the details of the new efforts that are being put in will be shared. They will be asked to please help, assist and cooperate in the efforts of the company. Management: This group of stakeholders will be the biggest challenge since they will be ready to provide solution before the problems come up. This group can also be communicated by e-mails and other such electronic communications Logistics support providers: Written type like the vendors Local administration, Community and Investors: Here also written communication would be best suited(Stakeholdermap, 2016). The new hamper which will be lodged will have to have a different appeal which will ensure that the snob appeal of the top segment is delivered. Thus the price will have to be on the higher side but then not so high so as to scare away the customers. There is no reason to assume that the affluent people will squander away money just for the snob appeal. It will also have to be of commensurate quality. Strength and weaknesses of the new business plan: before indulging into the exercise it may be noted that the revised business plan is just an extension of the current business plan. Only those features have been added which will come handy in the implementation of the three new concepts. The strengths are that the new additions will address the new set up more completely and it will ensure that all relevant aspects of the CRM, new hamper and the mentoring approach have all been addressed. The weaknesses are just two. First, some segments in the management level may object to the new additions calling them redundant and second the mentoring approach will need a shift in the mentality of the supervisors(Farb, 2016). Revised Business Plan: The revised Business Plan would incorporate a few more things. The manpower that get employed in the organization would be required to work in a different culture of the need for handling a much larger volume of transactions in a shorter time. The new hamper will have to be promoted not only for its snob appeal but also the environment compliance and green aspect will have to be specially emphasized. The marketing will now become much more focused since the main segment of the customers are under view through the CRM. While all other aspects of the Business Plan remain intact the emphasis will have to shift on the speed of delivering the high quality goods and services. Customer Relationship Management: Working with a CRM in place will call for a high level of agility and the number of transactions may be expected to increase substantially. This will cal for inculcating additional skills in their existing people. It may be recalled that the growth in data will not come overnight and thus the employees will have a tendency to drag their feet. It is during this phase that the importance of mentoring and development of additional skill will be required to be done(Alison, 2015). Communication Plan: The communication plan has been touched upon above but it needs to be stated that whatever is to be communicated will have to be done at a very rapid rate and the communication will have to remain coherent and concise. There should not be any areas of contradiction in the communications to the stakeholders. Culture: The mentoring program of the organization should get inbuilt into the culture of the organization. Thus while the supervisor sees to it that the employees function properly they also will have to help the employees navigate the bumpy stretches Impact of Changes: The impact of the changes will affect the following areas: Profits are expected to be higher since the new system will enable a collaborative effort with the customers. Communities will get to know from the customers and the various efforts made at different forums. The hamper will focus and highlight the environment friendliness and sustainability of the new product. Thus there cannot be any adverse effect from environmental considerations. Lean management and Six Sigma will have to be incorporated to ensure removal of wastages and continual improvements of systems and processes(Lewis, 2014). Improvement: The improvement plan will have to be worked out at the level of operations and for this purpose any high level continuous improvement plan will need the various functional modules in details. Conclusion: This organization is now taking a quantum leap. Thus the basic intentions and strategies for operation will have to be suitably modified. Unless this is done the benefits from the new inclusions will not be forthcoming. Since the organization already follows the basic steps of quality generation and value delivery to the customers it should not have any major problems. References: Alison. (2015, October 12). Extrinsic Motivation free essay sample
Extrinsic motivation is directly driven by external factors, as opposed to the internal drivers of intrinsic motivation. Extrinsic motivation drives me to do things for tangible rewards such as money or pressures, rather than for the fun of it. In a workplace this motivation would be the most used because most people work for money. I am employed at the Corcoran State Prison and this is an extrinsic motivation because I get paid to watch and protect inmates and control any possible hostile situations. One way where my occupation wouldnââ¬â¢t apply as an extrinsic motivation, but as an external regulation, is if I was forced to put myself in harmââ¬â¢s way for another co-worker in potential danger or inmate in potential danger for the sake of my job. Extrinsic motivation is based on reward; thus, the level of motivation is based on the level of rewards that are received. We will write a custom essay sample on Extrinsic Motivation or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Extrinsic motivation applies in most workplaces throughout the world; including the Corcoran State Prison where I am employed as a correctional officer. In my situation, I must protect others to get paid. I must get to work on time and do my job correctly in order to keep making money and to keep my job. For example, many times we do cell extractions because of an inmate being disruptive or he might have a weapon. So we go in and remove him. Also, with even simpler tasks like making sure cells are locked or that everything is fine on the yard. It is part of the job and is something I do to get paid. However, there are many situations where my job becomes a greater risk to my well-being than others.Problems that Iââ¬â¢m forced to do, that I donââ¬â¢t get paid extra for, and isnââ¬â¢t in my job entitlement. A situation where extrinsic motivation wouldnââ¬â¢t apply is if I was forced to be motivated to put myself in danger to defend the facility, other inmates, or my co-workers. Other circumstances even cause me to defend and protect myself. There can be situations where an inmate may pull out a weapon on me, and I would now be forced to defend myself. This isnââ¬â¢t listed in my job criteria but, I am involuntary responsible to handle the condition properly. Also, my co-worker may be held hostage with a deadly weapon and I must try with all my will to save this personââ¬â¢s life from this antagonistic state. Again, this wouldnââ¬â¢t be in my profession standards but Iââ¬â¢m counted on by others throughout the facility. In addition, there could be a brawl out on the yard and I would be forced to go out and put myself in danger and save the lives of possible defenseless inmates or guards and put a stop to the fight. I could risk getting injured severely, or even die. These are examples of not extrinsic motivation but, external regulations where Iââ¬â¢m forced to do without getting paid any extra and it is not in my employment title. The situation where extrinsic motivation does not apply is an enormous problem. This poses threat to the employees of the prisons and also the families of these people. This problem disrupts the work force tremendously. If things arenââ¬â¢t changed, then the state prisons will continue to lose money because of the deaths of employees and will lose productivity. However, I donââ¬â¢t believe this problem can be fixed. State prisons give inmates a lot of privileges that are not deserved for what they have done. If these state prisons remain to let these inmates have privileges than, external regulation becomes a greater risk. Creating new theoretical motivations that will help the work place and its employees is crucial and will have positive effects on both personal satisfaction and on productivity. In the Corcoran State Prison, the inmate population is overfilled creating an even greater hazard to the employees. When a prison is overpopulated inmates get put I the gym. They tier bunks and leave hundreds of them to live there. This prison has five buildings where they store inmates and five yards. If more building and yards were created, this would reduce the risk on employees and create more jobs. Also, the prison gives incentives to people with good behavior, but if the Corcoran State Prison condensed the number of inmates allowed to work, it would help the danger risk of employees. The more employees that work, the more that have access to unsafe tools and kitchen knives. These are a couple of examples that would help create safer environments for employees without affecting the overall mood of inmates throughout the prison. When privileges are taken away from inmates, they tend to become angrier which poses an even greater threat to society when they are released from prison. So, there has to be a certain line drawn to where we donââ¬â¢t take too much creating hostile environments for the society and to where we donââ¬â¢t give too much creating a threat to the employees. This can be a possible double edged sword if not figured out properly. Extrinsic motivation refers to motivation that comes from outside an individual. The motivating factors are external, or outside, rewards such as money or grades. These rewards provide satisfaction and pleasure that the task itself may not provide. However, in many cases, external regulation becomes a huge motivation in the Corcoran State Prison where I am employed. Where extrinsic motivation applies is that I am paid too work there and protect others. Where extrinsic motivation doesnââ¬â¢t apply in situations at work, I am forced to do objectives beyond my job entitlement. This is an on-going problem that must be fixed with new theoretical models of motivation like creating more building and yards for overpopulation in the prison and reducing the number of inmates allowed to work. Every employee of Corcoran State Prison works there to get paid. So, every employee is motivated by extrinsic motivation. However, when tested with external regulation the degree of motivation is based on the level of rewards that are received.

Comparing Economies Aus Japan Essay
Comparing Economies Aus Japan Essay Comparing Economies Aus Japan Essay Australia and Japan are two exceptionally advanced and industrialised mixed market economies, meaning their economies are mostly run by private market forces, but there is also substantial government intervention in economic life. Australia and Japan are closely linked and have a very strong economic relationship within the world economy that has evolved over decades. These two economies provide for an interesting comparison, as they are similar in many aspects, however they do have their various significant differences. This report seeks to compare and contrast the aspects of both Japan and Australia, which make up their economies, and to provide the close analysis of their economic characteristics. The economic aspects examined within this paper include: economic growth, main industries, trade, employment and unemployment, distribution of income, quality of life, environmental sustainability and the role of government. General Facts Australia Japan Geography Island located just below the equator in the South Pacific region Archipelago located in Asia to the east of North Korea and South Korea Size 7,741,200 km2 377,194 km2 Population 23.7 million 127.3 million Population density (per km2) 3 350.66 Currency Australian dollar (AU$) Japanese yen (à ¥) Type of Economy Mixed/Free market economy Mixed/Free market economy Economic Growth Economic growth refers to an economyââ¬â¢s capability of producing goods and services. GDP is the measure of a nationââ¬â¢s total output, and is used as the main indicator for economic growth. In 2013, Japanââ¬â¢s GDP measured US$4.901 trillion and Australiaââ¬â¢s measured US $1.56 trillion. Japan has a much larger economy than Australia in terms of GDP, which is most likely due to their significantly larger population and stronger labour force. Although Japan has the larger total GDP, Australia has a significantly larger GDP per capita, which is due to their much smaller population. Australiaââ¬â¢s economic growth rate between the years 2010-2013 ranged from 2-4%, according to the World Bank, and Japanââ¬â¢s rate of economic growth ranged from -0.5-4.7%. Australia Japan GDP US$4.901 trillion (2013) $1.56 trillion (2013) GDP per capita US$67,458.36 US$38,633.71 The rates of economic growth of both Japan and Australia during the past few years are shown in the graph below. Australiaââ¬â¢s rates of economic growth throughout the years remain relatively steady in comparison to Japanââ¬â¢s. Contrastingly, Japanââ¬â¢s economic growth rates do not tend to remain steady and often rise and fall dramatically in short periods of time. Australiaââ¬â¢s economic growth is quite consistent, in the sense that they tend to have less dramatic changes in rates of economic growth in comparison to Japan. Inflation generally refers to the rise of prices of consumer goods and services in the market, and the decline of the purchasing value of money. CPI (consumer price index) is the measure used to calculate inflation in the economy. CPI is determined by calculating the percentage change in the average prices of common consumer goods and services. The changes in the CPI of Australia and Japan throughout the years is displayed on the graph below, relative to the 2010 statistics, which are used as the 100%. In 2013, Australiaââ¬â¢s CPI measured 107.8%, whereas Japanââ¬â¢s measured 100.0%. Australiaââ¬â¢s CPI had risen by 7.8% in three years, whereas Japan remained where they were three years ago. From the graph below, it can be observed that Australiaââ¬â¢s CPI continues to increase quite rapidly, which is in contrast with Japan, whose CPI is quite stable and experiences very small change in rises and falls. It can be predicted that Australiaââ¬â¢s CPI will continue to rise , and Japanââ¬â¢s is expected to rise slightly due to the government reforms that were aimed to increase inflation. Both the Australian and Japanese Governments have introduced various policies and stimulus packages for the purpose

Report on HR Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words
Report on HR - Essay Example Effective human resource management would encourage team playing and would enhance collective performance in the organisation along with accentuating the individual performances. In case of performance management, a sound human resources policy would allow individuals to grow along with the growth of the organisation. This would entail involvement of the people in the work that they are assigned and autonomy in the context of the work done. There are several aspects of human resources which have a positive impact on the employees and help them to perform better in the organisation. The HRM can assign challenging and mentally stimulating jobs to the employees so that the employees find diversity and interest in the work that they do. The human resources managers often take several indicators which show that the organisational performance is increasing. Thus they try to make improvement in these indicators to bring an improvement in the overall organisational performance. In case of Wa l-Mart for example, the performance of each of the retail outlets is estimated by the HR department of Wal-Mart by analysing the length of the queues in the billing counters, the level of stocks that lie on the shelves and the stocks that are remaining at the end of the day. These are the key indicators that provide the HR department an idea about the areas where the performance can be improved to generate greater profits. (Harter, Schmitdt and Hayes, 2002, pp. 268-279). The managers in Wal-Mart act as the immediate superiors of the lowest level and junior level employees. Therefore it is important for the managers to encourage the employees to perform better in the daily activities of the retail store. The employees on the other hand should have respect for the managers and should be motivated by them for the achievement of any target that they need to meet. The human resource policies of Wal-Mart are progressive in nature in the sense that the implementation of the HR policies sho uld be done with efficiency and the goals that the line managers set for the employees have to be in accordance with the organisational policies. Thus it is essential for the managers to have leadership skills which would drive a positive energy in the entire organisation culture. Mutual respect should flow bilaterally for the line managers and the junior employees. The relations of the employees with the organisation and its various elements are some of the major benchmarks of the organisational effectiveness. The Human Resource Departments of the organisations generally engage the employee into participation programmes

Depiction of Cold War in Rocky IV
Depiction of Cold War in Rocky IV The Cold War was an ideological or Propaganda War between the two Super Powers, The Soviet Union and the United States of America. The War was not only political but also social and cultural, to the extent of which itââ¬â¢s presence was felt not only in the mass media of the day, but also in the entertainment industry. It was especially during the 70ââ¬â¢s and 80ââ¬â¢s that optimum effort was put into the entertainment media to portray pro-capitalist and anti-communist ideas to the public. American values and ideals were exalted in movies, music, television, art and literature. Hollywood played a significant role in bringing the Cole War propaganda to the big screen through motion pictures and documentaries that were made and produced. The animated movie: Make Mine Freedom, Meet King Joe, Red Nightmare and the Rambo Saga are some examples of movies with the Cold War in the background. They successfully depicted the idea of the American Dream and idealized the capitalist and Democratic society of America as the epitome of political state rule. The Rocky Series, written and directed by the famous actor, director Sylvester Stallone is an action packed and exiting series of six movies. It depicts the life and crisis of a boxer, Rocky Balboa played by Sylvester Stallone himself. The films are:à Rockyà (1976),à Rocky II(1979),à Rocky III(1982),à Rocky IVà (1985),à Rocky Và (1990) andà Rocky Balboa(2006). The boxing blockbuster saga was well received by the audience and the critics. The movies became a huge rage all over America and also in other countries of the world. The movies at first glance come across as a typically action oriented sports melodrama, but on closer analysis many different themes and areas have been depicted and explained in them. Rocky IV the fourth installment of the Rocky Series that released in 1985, is a movie that showcases not only good drama that satisfies the audiences expectation of action and adventure, but also subtly depicts the Cold War and the idea of the ââ¬Å"Us against Themâ⬠, that is, the United States against the U.S.S.R. The movie is well recognized as one that propagates the Cold War agenda that it is popularly known as: Rocky IV ââ¬Å"the one with the Russianâ⬠. The story continues from the third movie where Rocky wins the title from Clubber Lang. He decides to spend some time with his family but soon destiny brings him back to the ring. A new fighter from the Soviet, Ivan Drago comes to America and fights with Apollo Creed. In the course of the match Apollo is severely injured and dies a cold death in his friends arm. To avenge his comrades death Rocky challenges the ruthless Drago to a rematch to be held in Moscow on Christmas Day. Both parties train vigorously, Drago using top notch technology and Rocky takes natures help to train. Finally, in the boxing ring Rocky fights his nemesis initially facing the worst beating of his life. He soon recovers and at last achieves victory over Drago. When analyzing the film in its quality of content, it is instantly identified as a movie with Cold War depiction. The relationship between the two main characters in the movie, Rocky characterized as the hero and Drago the villain is a well developed metaphor that communicates the political scenario of the Cold War. Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) represents America and Drago (Dolph Lundgren) represents the Soviet Union. Their enmity symbolizes the cold War situation between the two Super powers. The movie is an American film, thus it revels in the idea of America while condemning the communist Soviet. It is commendable how the film in a short span of ninety one minutes summarizes all the main incidents and themes of the Cold War. The defeat of Drago in the end is a perfect metaphor of the fall of the Soviet just a few years after the movie was released. The first incident is the fight between Drago and Apollo, where Apollo is killed by the cold Drago. This in terms can be seen as the Second World War where America got directly involved in the end. The period of the Cold War is the training session filled with tension and apprehension before the fight between Rocky and Drago. Although during the Cold War there was no actual battle between the two superpowers the fights in the boxing ring are metaphorical. They depict the ideological clash between the two superpowers. Rockyââ¬â¢s decision to face Drago in the ring is severely criticized by his wife who wanted peace. This is similar to the criticism President Reagan faced when he took adverse steps to bring an end to the Cold War. Rocky like President Reagan adopts the philosophy of ââ¬Å"peace through strength and challenges Drago to a fight. And just as Reagan was praised for his efforts after the end of the War, similarly Rocky achieves victory and the faith of his wife in the movie after he gains victory over Drago. In this movie there is one notable difference in the portrayal of the villain. Here the villain is not black like in the former movies. The villain is a white man; this portrays the change of focus from the stereotype of the angry, colored man to the pressing political scenario. The white villain is a conscious attempt of portrayal of the enemy, the threat (the Soviet Union) in terms of the Cold War. During the era of the Cold War the media was used as a political weapon to arouse nationalistic feeling among the citizens of America. America saw the growing technology of the Soviets as a threat to their existence as a superpower. Keeping this in mind the movie resourcefully brings out the idea of the American dream, that is, success follows those who work hard. Rocky during his training for the rematch in Moscow is shown doing rigorous exercise by means of cutting wood, climbing mountains and pulling sleighs. He is and individualist who has achieved success through great labor. On his own he rises from the streets of Philadelphia and achieves fame in the boxing ring. In sharp contrast the mechanical Drago is surrounded by a team of professionals who help him train with the beast machines and technology. He builds up his strength through the aid of steroids. Finally it is Rocky who wins the match. His victory over Drago is the individualââ¬â¢s victory over the collective. Thus very cleverly the American idea of individual and self work is propagated against the Soviets idea of Communism. The Cold War for America was all about Anti-Communistic feeling which is very suitably shown in the film. The cold nature of the Soviet is depicted through the cinematography. The landscape of Russia is shown as course and snow covered. But even the harsh climate does not stop Rocky from continuing his training for the upcoming match. This reveals the American zeal and determination to attain success and aim high. As the end of the movie approaches, the Soviet regime of communism is mocked at as the Russians in the movie start supporting Rocky and condemning Drago, with chants of Rocky! Rocky! Rocky! Rocky!â⬠This symbolizes the conversion of the Soviet into a capitalist nation sooner or later. It establishes the superior authority of the American idea of individualism and capitalism as opposed to Soviet Communism. The continuous chant of ââ¬Å"rockyâ⬠establishes America as the only superpower that would exist in the world after the fall of the Soviet regime. Itââ¬â¢s a celebration of the American nation. Rockyââ¬â¢s final speech is pro America and holds great appeal to pacifists and supporters of the Cold War. In his final words he appeals to the Russians to bring change. He says If I can change, and you can change, everybody can change. In turn echoing the thoughts of all Americans, that of putting an end to the Cold War. He declares that it is finally time to change. This change would establish America as the only superpower. With the fall of the Soviet some years later Rockyââ¬â¢s final words echo in the minds of the American people. This movie is the last of the great Rocky movies that is worth a mention. The fifth and sixth movies are no match in quality and content to the first three. Rocky IV stacked a great deal of money and popularity and has heavily contributed to the one billion dollars that the six movies have made. Rocky IV has a perfect alchemy of drama, action, and patriotism which makes it a fulfilling watch. It is very interesting how the contrast between the two Superpowers is shown in the characterization of the two main actors. The movie inspires nationalistic feelings among the American citizens and glorifies the ideology of the nation to the best effect. It is one of the few films that portray the Cold War scenario so appropriately in terms of metaphorical depiction.

Recollecting Childhood Memories
I went through my childhood with more happy memories than sad ones. Unfortunately, the dramatic and sad experiences stand out more in my memory bank. However among my childhoodà memoriesà I remember a certain experience. back in my native place when I was a child of about six years age. My dad had promised me that if I finish my homework early for the day, he would take me to the exhibition. Back at that time exhibitions were rare in our city, and it only happened once or twice in a year. So, I was really excited and pumped up to go. After I did all of my work, I waited patiently for my dad to come home from work. Minutes felt like hours and finally he arrived from work. By seeing the excitement in my face, he knew that I have done everything that he wanted me to do. My dad kept his word and took me to the exhibition. Because our city was pretty small, exhibition was a huge event for the people of our city.People from near and outside of the city come here to enjoy and have a grea t time. It was my first time to the naval exhibition or rather to any exhibition and I was really happy that my parents were with me. At that time, there was a large crowd at the place. Even though the exhibition happens only once or twice, I never expected such a large gathering. I being a six year old had never seen such a large gathering at one place. In fact before getting into the exhibition my dad said to me, I love you.
